Online Safety Talks for Primary Schools

Graham was very professional from start to finish. He was a wealth of knowledge in all areas of Internet safety and had a natural rapport with all our students. The parents presentation was also very relevant and to the point with lots of practical advice.

A practical voice in the classroom bringing real world experience, we will help the kids, school and parents understand parental control, social media, online behaviour, gaming and cyberbullying.

We’ll help your kids understand the threat. Our figures are based on 2018 classroom surveys.

Most kids are familiar with the basic safety rules, we will re-enforce the necessity for following these rules.  We will explain the unpleasant consequences for some kids on Social Media, and we deal with how to manage these.

It's really important important to teach the kids about the internet and it's power from as young an age as possible, all of the evidence is that kids who are well grounded and thought how to use the internet properly are more successful in everything they do. It's really important to have formed their habits as they reach 10/11 years of age.  World Health Organisation reckons that as little of 5% is not well intended but that's the 5% where the hate, bullying, sexting, predators, meaness reside.

Increasingly Principals and PTAs are electing to cover this distressing topic.

As children prepare for senior school it is something to consider.  We have a way of dealing with this directly in an very age sensitive way. It’s all about the consequences, being tempted into it, being ready to say 'No' in advance and what to do once it's happened.

One thing we do know, you will able to hear a pin drop.

Spoke to hundreds of parents in the morning and evening. Spoke to our 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes. I was very happy with their work.

Parents, PTAs

We are delighted to speak with Parents Groups on the same days as speaking with the kids. We will talk to parens before School, lunchtime or in the Evening. We do so in the knowledge that some parents are baffled by Phones, Social Media and hate the idea of Snapchat. We will update Parents on what we said to the kids during the time, we'll impart some tips and trick for combatting phone use in the home some for free and some which you have to pay for.

One thing we know for sure and this is a known fact, kids who know the boundaries for phones, social media etc, are more successful kids and more likely to succeed in the future and more likely to have real friends and enjoy better health in every way. That's the prize for parents. Worth the effort!
