parental controls for roblox

Following similar moves from TikTok, Roblox wants to stop adult content

Virtual gaming platform Roblox is developing content ratings for games and easier parental controls for their kids, the company’s chief privacy officer Remy Malan. this follows. Hear our views on Podcast

More than 50% of Roblox’s audience/users of more than 30 million daily users are children under 13. Roblox has struggled at times to contain sexually explicit content on the game. Age-inappropriate games occasionally pop up on kids’ “recommended for you” lists, according to reports. Roblox has been criticised for this in the past

The popular game currently restricts kids to specific games, but under the new system, parents would have more information about what kids might find in a given game; until you play a game, it’s not always clear that it might have explicit or inappropriate content in it. Hopefully, this development will put an end to this oversight.

Sales increased to nearly $600 million during the first nine months of 2020, a 68 per cent increase from a year earlier. Roblox went public in March 2021 and said in its prospectus that its users spent an average of 2.6 hours daily on the portal.

These features are important steps forward in making social media platforms positive areas for people of all ages.
