8 Steps to Build Cybersecurity Aware Culture

Human Error, it is said, causes 90% plus of cyber incidences

Cybersecurity is a major issue for businesses. Since most cyberattacks result from human mistakes, it’s important to help your staff avoid them and protect your company.

    • Make a clear plan. Decide on steps like updating security policies, how often to train, which methods to use, what resources you need, who should be trained, and when to do it.
    • Gain Leadership Buy-In. Leadership endorsement can significantly enhance the promotion and communication of your security program.
    • Check how well the program works by using security assessments and surveys. Share what you find and make changes based on feedback and what you learn.
    • Adjust training to fit each employee’s knowledge of cybersecurity and the amount of sensitive data they handle.
    • Encourage good habits by celebrating wins, using games, offering rewards, and picking training that matches each person’s experience.
    • Put the program into action. Explain why it matters, what you expect, and why everyone’s involvement is important.
